    you could think about them as hand-made remixes, as well as cover versions.

    Very interesting to see this piece progress. It seems to be getting much more gothic and creepy than the original source image.

    Matt--"gothic"? "Creepy"? Oh no, it might belong on "Eaten by Ducks"!!
    Actually, as Mike knows, I used to draw like this a lot, especially in college. See here, for example:
