I wrote here a short text, in french, about my series Artchéologisme.
For reminder :
artchéologisme 1 and artchéologisme 2 .
edit hs : I found, there was one month or two, a obscur french abstract comic published in a old issue of french magazine Pilote (n° 708, mai 1973) : Dom Chrysopée by Amat (I know nothing about this guy…). Maybe I will post one page or two…

Brandl: "Meta-Dailies: Fortsetzung"

From 2001. I was analyzing the structuring of typical "dailies" --- daily newspaper comic strips --- and creating abstract variations on that. I was also including the so-called ancillary elements of titles, names, the copyright notice, "to be continued tomorrow" captions and so on. What I enjoyed most was the combination of abstract images with the conventional accoutrements.

Semi-abstract: Pine Away
Double-posting something I just put up on my blog. This isn't completely abstract, but it's the first of a few single pagers I've been working on that attempts to mix abstract image and text. This one's a bit more representational than the other ones.

For a little about the constraint I used in creating this, see the original post.

Abstract 8a ‘they are coming’

Abstract 8a A wall of text, an experiment I wanted to see what would happen if I tried using text without its usual partner in comics the word ballon. I what I think is interesting is how this changes how we view how text operates in comics, it is the image. If you're keen there is some interesting discussion in the comments.
